چکیده
Objective: Numerous single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been identified as genetic contributors to atrial fibrillation (AF). The aim of this study was investigate the effects genome-wide N 6 -methyladenosine (m A)-SNPs on AF. Method: m A-SNPs were by analysis raw data from published AF GWAS datasets and list AVar database. Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) conducted evaluate gene expression. expression linked genes validated in three independent AF-associated (GSE14975, GSE108660 GSE2240). Results: A total 1429 (6.2%) unique that significantly associated with identified. Seventeen 14 reached significance. Eight demonstrated eQTL signals. Four (rs383692, rs3211105, rs1061259 rs1152582) exhibited strong cis-eQTL signals levels SMIM8 , JMJD1C SYNE2 . had differential between sinus rhythm groups. In addition, uniformly downregulated samples compared normal control datasets. Conclusions: Our results provide first demonstration are strongly AF, extend understanding modification a potential biological pathway underlying

Atrial fibrillation associated with epileptic seizures.
BACKGROUND Epileptic seizures are often associated with changes in cardiac autonomic function. Yet atrial fibrillation (AFib) or atrial flutter (AFlu) following epileptic seizures has only rarely been reported in the past. OBJECTIVES To describe and characterize patients who experienced lone AFib or AFlu as a consequence of epileptic seizures. DESIGN Case reports. SETTING University teach...
متن کاملGastrointestinal comorbidities associated with atrial fibrillation
This observational study was conducted to describe the risk of gastrointestinal (GI) events among patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). We analyzed Thomson Reuters MarketScan® data from 2005 to 2009. Subjects aged ≥18 years with ≥ 1 AF diagnosis were selected. GI events were identified from claims with a primary or secondary diagnosis code for any GI condition. The risk of GI events was asses...
متن کاملIs atrial fibrillation associated with pulmonary embolism?
BACKGROUND A pulmonary embolism (PE) is thought to be associated with atrial fibrillation (AF). Nevertheless, this association is based on weak data. OBJECTIVES To assess whether the presence of AF influences the clinical probability of PE in a cohort of patients with suspected PE and to confirm the association between PE and AF. PATIENTS/METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the data from tw...
متن کاملPersistent Atrial Fibrillation Is Associated with Worse Prognosis Than Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation in Acute Cerebral Infarction
Background and Purpose. We hypothesized that patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) suffer from more severe cerebral infarction than patients with paroxysmal AF due to differences in clot structure and volume. Methods. This study includes consecutive patients with acute cerebral infarction and persistent or paroxysmal AF documented by ECG any time prior to stroke onset. The National ...
متن کاملElevated plasma levels of Th17-related cytokines are associated with increased risk of atrial fibrillation
We performed a matched case-control study using a propensity score matching, to assess the association of Th17-related cytokines, including interleukin (IL) 17A (IL-17A), IL-17F, IL-21, IL-22 and IL-6, along with interferon-γ (IFN-γ), IL-10, IL-9, and IL-4, with the risk of AF. A total of 336 patients with AF were matched 1:1 with patients without AF. Plasma levels of cytokines were measured us...
